#1 3aw switch with 4 wire alternator on S1
Hi I have a 1964 S1 converted to alternator ,(11ac I think with 4 wires. My ignition warning g light dose not work.Do I still need a 3aw switch.

Your original system would have had a generator, and the red ignition light was powered by that system. Any alternator system will be different. If you do indeed have an 11AC unit, yes, you could add a 3 AW to power the red ignition light. If would be wired just as in the 4.2 with alternator. However, the early 4.2 with 11AC did not use the 3AW, it used an oil pressure switch to turn the red ignition light on and off. You could choose to use that system. If your current alternator is not an 11 AC, you could still possibly power the red ignition light through that alternator, but we would have to know what alternator you are using to make recommendations.
