Hi, do the headlamp scoops on a series 2 car have any sealing between the scoop and the bonnet along the line of pop rivets? Mine seemed to have something like a flexible sealer between the faces.
I presume that the rubber seal sits on top of the scoop.
Thanks
Steve

As they left the factory, no, no sealant but in today's world in the fight against corrosion you'd be mad not to refit the scoops without a thin layer of sealant to keep moisture out of the inevitable mismatches between the scoops and bonnet.

Simple black gutter sealant from screwfix about £3 a tube, best £3 you ever spent! Never goes hard, easy to wipe clean with a little panel wipe to make a really neat seal no one can see, then with what ever is left (plenty) use it between the front/rear window rubbers, you’ll never get a leak there again! And it don’t stick so still a doddle should you need to remove them.
