#1 K-Line Valve-guide inserts for XK engines

Post by norman m. macleod » Sat Mar 19, 2011 1:25 pm

Hi there all,
Has anyone had experience in the installation of K-Line valve-guide inserts for the XK engine.....? And possibly a UK or Australian supplier of the kits....?
Thanks,

I have no experience with that particular make but I did make the bads mistake of having bronze liners installed in my 3.8 engine years ago when I restored the car.

More recently when I was doing some engine work, I had the valve guides changed for the newer type, solid silicon-bronze, I think and I also added inlet valve seals together with the more modern hardware. This has seemed to completely cure the smoking on start-up (from the inlet valves leaking).

There are some pictures of the work and the parts I used here:-
