Does anyone know where I can buy replacement connectors for the rear lights?

By this I mean the wire that fits inside the lamp. It has an insulator disc and a small copper connector that touches the bottom of the bulb... I think there is a small spring behind the insulator but I am not certain.

Its a bit hard to describe so probably best if I take a photo tonight - I have looked at a number of automotive electrical component stores but I cant see them anywhere.

Same part for any car or motorcycle from that era using Lucas or Wipac electrics and probably almost every other car too, right up to the 80s/90s at least. Any vehicle using those bulbs in fact, for which the bulb holders (and therefore bulb base connections) must be consistent for obvious reasons.

Only differences are single or twin filament and yes, there is a spring behind and a bullet on the end. Any breaker, anywhere, that stocks any car parts will have dozens. Trouble is, most of them will be inside light fittings, so buying just the wire and spring etc. will be tough. Personally I'd ask the breaker for smashed light fitting that are unsaleable and salvage the parts from those. You might find minor differences between, say, Japanese light holders and European in that bullet sizes vary, but certainly any 60s, 70s or 80s British car used the same stuff AFAIK until they went over to multipin plugs.

Thanks David, yes I tried them but their workshop is closed this week so there is no-one there who can tell me if they stock the item.

Chris's suggestion of a breakers yard is an option - albeit as a fall back position.
