#1 V12 Auto Stalling when selecting Drive

Post by 215m3 » Wed Jun 01, 2011 7:42 pm

When cold the car is fine, but when the car has been on a run and the engine is hot, selecting 'Drive' from neutral the car repeatedly stalls. Then when still hot, Drive is selected it works. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I have searched, but could not find any information on this type of problem.

Did this behavior just start? Due to warmer weather perhaps? One thought is that one or more of the temperature compensators on the Strombergs are not functioning as they should and and are lowering the idle speed when the engine compartment temps are high. Selecting "D' has the tendency to lower the idle speed, and together these things cause the engine to stall.
The compensators can be checked and adjusted. Be sure to use new o-rings or gaskets.

Thank you for your reply. The car does not see much action to be honest, but last year it seemed to be fine.

I have decided to get it checked over as it is probably beyond me time wise.
