#1 Carburettor return springs / brackets

Gents,

A question for straight six owners with triple carbs.

Each carburettor has a long spring that closes the throttle plate when at rest. That spring then connects to a Y shaped bracket (or triangular for the rear carb). Is this bracket mounted on the bottom retaining nuts of the carburettor OR on the manifold itself?

My car has always had them on the carbs but I have seen quite a few mounted on the manifold and just wondered which was correct... I *think* it is my car that was wrong....

Thanks

On mine the rear carb spring goes to a bracket held by the lower manifold/engine bolts. The other two carb spring go to brackets mounted on the carbs themselves.

Thanks David. That seems reasonable as I imagined the smaller rear bracket was like that to clear the starter motor...

If other people concur then thats how my car will be too...
