hi all is it easy to install series1 enclosed front lights onto an early series 1.5 etype?

No. The open headlights are in a different position on the bonnet/wings from the closed lights of the S1 .

It is easier than Series 2/3 as the hole is already almost the right shape. Mt friend and wedding guest Harvey Ferris has written up his conversion, along with a stack of other stuff on his great web site.
