#1 Series 1 - horn push rod - re-inserting?

Post by ChrisC » Sat Aug 27, 2011 4:05 pm

Hmm... after many tries I still cant insert the brass horn push rod fully into the steering column. I know there is a spring contact at the bottom of the column but I cant see it so presumably it is internal.

Any tips or tricks please or I am just unlucky and should keep trying... it looks so simple but I am getting frustrated with it and thats the time to stop and ask for advice....

Cheers

You should be able to just push it in. It makes contact with a spring pressured brass nipple in the column.

Yes, I think so, but if that is all you need just buy it separately (C16879) - listed at ?7.49 by SNGB.

Doh - never thought of looking up the code as an individual item thanks....

I have now got the rod into the column so I know it fits - it just to buy the insulator sleeve.
