#1 Front upper wishbone mount

Post by chrisvine » Wed Nov 09, 2011 3:47 pm

I've started stripping down the front suspension and one of the front upper wishbone bushes didn't push out a freely as the others. Once the bush was out the reason became clear - it appears that there has been some welding done on the inside of mount, which hasn't been filed back.

The photo's not too clear but there are about three runs of weld, across the full width:

The outside surface seems to be fine so I'm not sure why someone has taken to welding it. Were these mounts prone to failure or cracking? I'm not too keen on re-using this part but none of the main suppliers seem to sell the bush bracket. Does anyone know who can supply these.

Thanks for any help,
Chris
