#1 Confessions of a Numskull

Post by Tony » Fri Dec 02, 2011 12:47 am

Last month I did the dumbest thing I think I have ever done, and I have done some dumb things in my time.

I had a rattle at the front of the car going over a bumpy stretches of road. On investigation I found the front bonnet hinge had snapped off cleanly, so I took it off and welded it up.

I do not think I can go on as it is to stupid for words.

The problem turned out to be a loose bolt on the top shock absorber mount. The bonnet hinge has now been put back to how it should be with the aid of a grinder??. I though it looked a clean break at the time of welding it up. Doh.

Anybody else done anything stupid such as glueing their arm up .Chris?

Done lots of stupid things. Some of them with cars!

I hope you saw my post on your window winder thread about those bottles of lubricant you kindly brought for me. They have gone down a treat and are much appreciated.

The most stupid thing I ever did was to lever a brake shoe spring with a screwdriver, which slipped and made a very nasty gash in my forehead. Could account for a lot of things
