#1 removing old powder coating

Post by MartinA » Fri Dec 09, 2011 8:44 pm

Anyone know the best way to remove old powder coating from seat hinge covers as I want to chrome plate them? I assume sand blasting would do the trick, but want a smooth finish for the plating. :?:

You can use a blast media such as glass bead which will do the trick. If you are getting them chrome plated they will polish them and then copper, nickel, chrome plate so any marks will be lost after the copper is polished.
