#1 V12 Exhaust Manifolds

Post by Doddsy333 » Tue Jul 03, 2012 3:33 pm

Can someone with a V12 help me with the gap that there is supposed to be between the exhaust manifolds Y piece and the space frame. I have just reinstalled my engine and mine are very close, especially on one side. I suspect that the actual manifolds may need to be remounted or swapped around to align better but would rather check before embarking on removing all the carbs/pipework and inlets just to get at the exhaust manifolds again in situ. All advice gratefully received.

They are close, but if they are uneven you should slacken off the engin/trans mounts. Then jack up the low side and/or somehow shim the mounts slightly or pull the engine on the slotted holes so it is more symmetrical in the frames.
