The disappearing brake fluid

In January I purchased a 1970 E Type Jag here in Australia. Unfortunately it has rarely been out of my garage since I bought it.

If anyone can help me with the riddle below it would be very much appreciated.

? I had a leak on one of the rear callipers
? I dropped the rear suspension out and repaired the leak
? Put the rear suspension back in
? Replaced both brake reservoirs
? Bled the rear brakes
? Bled the front brakes, I had a lot of trouble getting the air out of the front drivers side
? Appeared to be braking fine and at no time did a warning light come on
? Left the car in the garage for a couple of days
? Looked under the bonnet and all the brake fluid had gone from the drivers side reservoir
? Brake pedal went to the floor
? Checked for leaks found no brake fluid anywhere
? Checked the brake fluid level warning indicator and it worked fine
? Put fluid in reservoir pumped brakes to check for leaks, none found
? Bled front brakes and moved car out of garage to check for leaks, none found
? Brake pedal now going to the floor
? Checked under the bonnet, and hey presto, the brake fluid from drivers side had disappeared
? No signs of leaks anywhere.
? Passengers side fluid level does not change

I do not have much of an understanding of how this system works even after reading the manual. I have read the recent post regarding the bleeding of the brake system but I am not sure if this has any relevance to my problem.

If anyone has an idea where all this brake fluid is going please let me know.

Suspect that your brake slave cylinder on the end of the servo housing has failed. All the missing brake fluid is either sloshing around in the servo vacuum unit or has been transferred to the vacuum reservoir on the drivers front bulkhead. IIWY I would replace both the brake master and slave cylinders and rebuild the front callipers. Don't bother trying to get the old ones rebuilt here in AUS it is cheaper and quicker just to buy brand new units from SNGB although I think the servo/slave unitis an exchange item.

The work is straightforward to replace I did it myself last year.

Spot on Chris, I have just removed the servo vacuum unit and drained about a litre of brake fluid out of it.
