Someone told me if I'd take the two caliper halves apart, I'd never get them together again without them leaking brake fluid. Is that true? On my 2+2 I'd like to replace all rubber seals and the pistons but how do I do that with the two halves still together? Any advise is greatly appreciated - Thanks. Chris

I have done it before. It is just two bolts but I suggest you not do it until you have the two new rubber seals that will need to be replaced when you split it.
I used some locktite when I put them back together.

Splitting is no big deal. I think the stories originate from a time when the correct o-rings were not available.
