I am ploughing through the rebuild of my 3.8 IRS and have a question relating to the inner fulcrum shaft.
I have fitted the fulcrum shafts and tightened them fully but you can still detect a bit of looseness on the one or two of the seal retainer rings. I expected the whole thing to tighten up pretty tight and just wonder whether I have a problem or not. From thinking this through the total measurements are achieved by the fulcrum bolt pulling up the the thrust washers against the spacers between the fulcrum roller bearings and therefore I cannot think that there can be any way to get this wrong. Just slightly surprised that the seals feel a little loose although the thrust washers dont.
Any thoughts much appreciated as this is the first time I have rebuilt one of these, and I want to make it my last!!!
