#1 balancing center lock wire wheels

Post by adam » Tue Aug 28, 2012 3:22 pm

Hi, i wanted to get my wheels balanced locally, but when i asked every local tyre shop whether they had the correct centers to mount the wheels to balance them, they had no idea that they needed any different centers, some looked at me like i was speaking rubbish. Next i phoned local classic car dealers to ask where they got theirs done, all said MWS. Does any one know any where in Surrey that can do them correctly?

Hi, found that Dorking Tyres have the right centres to balance wheels correctly. Do ask if you're getting wheels balanced as most places have no idea how to do the job on wire wheels!!

Agreed. Very difficult to find people with the right equipment. Vintage Tyre Supplies Limited at the National Motor Museum Beaulieu and Longstone Tyres in Bawtry can do it or you could invest in a bubble balance for DIY: http://www.frost.co.uk/automotive-wheel ... ancer.html
