Hi Dave,

I have been looking at lifts for some time and this one seems a bit expensive to what you can get on the Internet. Maybe Hamer are a better quality, I do not know, but for ?1600 inc of vat you do not get a full lift hight and have to pay more if you need a full lift. It also depend if you want a 4 post or a 2 post lift, both have their own advantages and disadvantages depending on what you want to use it for.

Not a lot of help but I am sure there are better deals, particularly if a two post is a possible option.

Maybe other member can point out the advantage of a two post over a 4 post. I seem to note most of the e type restorer companies use two post a lot so they cannot be that bad.

If you have the height, go for a 4 poster. I got mine from 'the garage man' - about 1.5k

Reason I fancy this one is that it can be moved, I can use it outside or even lend/hire it. The other two & four posters require fixing down and power supplies. i.e. wanted to get more out of it by its 'flexibility'

Hardly have any headroom in my garage!

David : have you seen how it works - it takes a lot of effort - and you can get the powered type with wheel kits on them so that they can be moved around

Here's another similar option which has an electric lifting device it also has castors, drip and jacking tray. There is available a proper rolling jack for ?350 + vat extra.
