The bonnet of my S2 is nearing completion on jig in the upside down position.
The next task is to turn it over for fitting to the car.
What is the best way to flip it over. I do have a hoist with a 10 ft lift.
Any advice would be welcome.

I would recommend getting a few friends round to help and do it manually.

On the ground place a thick piece of foam or make a thick pad from pillows / blankets. Lift the back edge of the bonnet as high as you can and lower the nose of the bonnet onto the padding. you can then swivel the bonnet upright whilst it stands on its nose (on the protective padding) and then lower it down right side up.

The nose will be fine on the padding - I have done it more than a few times. You can even do it when painted but you obviously need to take more care.

And note that the centre of gravity is much further forward than you would imagine : about 2/3 of the way towards the front of the wheelarch
