Bonnet/top hose clearance

Folks, does anyone have a rough estimate of the clearance between the top hose and the bonnet?..........mine seems to have closed up!-hose has left witness mark on bonnet underside........can't imagine that the bonnet has dropped at the front(been perfect for years).

Hi Dale. ..If it's touching then something is not right.....have a close look at the front frame that support the bonnet for any signs of movement,bending, cracks etc.....has the car been in a garage and someone accidently jacked up under the frame instead of the picture frame.. Steve

Check also the engine mountings for tearing/stretching . Someone may have jacked under the sump with unfortunate results

Car has only had me working on it for last 15 years. I put blue tack on bonnet (aprrox. 3/16" thick) and there was a slight impression mark from hose(new). Slackened clips and twisted hose 'round a bit' and retried.........impression was less but still a 'ghost' ! Obviously clearance is marginal. Have stuck some thin foam on bonnet and will keep an eye out.

Hi Dave. ...don't leave it and wait.....A dent in the bonnet will be a nightmare...check out all the points mentioned Steve
