#1 Rev Counter Issue (still!) / Roto arm wire

Post by Malk » Tue Apr 30, 2013 6:50 am

Think we may have finally traced the rev counter issue due to a wire being damaged by roto arm. Is this wire still available with original fittings so I can just plug in myself does anyone know?

If I'm understanding you correctly you are referring to the distributor trigger wiring? This comes in more than one style and connector for various V12s (Marek probably has chapter and verse).

Most of what's on sale today is either complete replacement systems like Lumenition or SNGB's CEI kit, or things like ReOpus which match your existing trigger wiring. I'm not clear how a V12 rotor can damage wires well below it in the distributor.

Thanks Pete - this was feedback from the garage. I will investigate further and just go most sensible route to get the rev counter working......

From memory, there were two different connection options on the S3. One took from the flat resistor pack and one from a coil or other harness wire? I forget exactly. Whichever one your tach currently (doh!) uses you could check the wiring diagrams and try the other?

I've been speaking with a chap at SNG and plumped for a dab113he kit. I was getting a slight miss-fire last time out too. Hopefully solve both issues!!
