I'm researching this for a family member as he is not a mechanic.He said he was driving when he heard a noise that sounded like a flat tire.The car died and won't restart.It turns over fine with no noise.It acts like its not getting any spark.Any ideas?Thank you.

Check if it's getting any spark.

Need to check there's fuel to the carbs too - Spark and fuel - unless the engine has blown up, the chances are it'll be one of these.
