#1 Nickel or zinc plating in the North West

Post by Davesunders » Thu Sep 26, 2013 12:46 pm

I've just got everything ready to get plated (front suspension, blanking plates, bonnet catches etc) and a local guy who does it says zinc plating would be a better option than nickel, any opinions on this would be good along with any recommendations of platers in the North West.
Cheers

I should have a word with Vernon Bros Electroplating at Heckmondwike, who I can certainly recommend for e.g. chrome plating . I had my suspension parts done ( in the Midlands ) in Zinc-Nickel which is the latest compound technology, but it does produce a purpley tinged silver finish which is not to everyone's taste . You can see the results on xkedata at 1E20357

Cheers, I'll see what they have to say.

Any recommendations for a wiring loom? The autosparks looms look nice.

Not sure where you are in NW, but I now use Aerotech (01204 571300) located in Farnworth, Bolton just off the M61. I had them plate all parts for my 66 FHC which they did well. I will continue using them.
