I'm sure this will have been answered before, but how successful have people found the packing rings for rear springs which are supposed to increase ride height by 20mm (3/4 inch) ?
I changed the springs on mine and it made very little difference to ride height, so thought I would try these as they are pretty cheap.

just done this job on a V12 2+2 and fitted new springs and spacers. Ride height is spot on. I'll leave it to others to explain why you need them as I don't know!

Hi Ian,
Christmas day last year saw me changing my rear shock absorbers of my S3 2+2 for new Gaz ones because my ride height was low. Before people jump in clamouring that the shock absorbers don't control height, these were adjustable spring platform units, bought specifically to solve my low rear ride height issues. Despite all the advice that a set of new springs would be the best solution, this is only the case if you find a supplier that provides exactly the same spec as the original springs. Anyway, although I did not use the spacers, I did raise the platforms of the shock absorbers (relative to the previous set) by around 20mm and my ride height is now correct - this would have the same effect as fitting spacers I believe.
Regards,
Simon
