Anyone got any thoughts/experience with SU Carbs conversion on the V12? Worthwhile? is so what are the benefits?

Why are you even thinking about it? What do you hope to achieve? For a few ?ks you might get a better shine on the domes. Nothing wrong with the stroms if set up correctly. If you want to change the fuelling go for injection. See AJ6 website.

I picked up a set of SUs, manifolds and linkages for the V12 a few years ago with the intention of putting them on my car, but didn?t get around to it. Apparently the mod improves performance by about 10% to 15%, and reduces fuel consumption by a similar amount, so if you have a set, it?s worthwhile doing. Burlen Fuel Systems still do a set for somewhere around ?700. However, with the ?free? availability of XJS injection systems, which make a far bigger improvement, I really don?t think that the mod is worth doing any more.

They were quite popular in the day though, and I?ve seen quite a few over the past few years.

...I have no view, just curious... the fellow who owned my car prior to me had them put on evidently... I had heard they were considered a good idea from my mechanic. I had also heard they were easier to set up and keep in tune.
