#1 Roadster windscreen A post chrome finisher

I have just had a new triplex windscreen fitted to my V12 roadster and am finding the A post chrome finisher is being held approx 2mm too far away for the top capping to slide over it without loading up the screen. It seems that the rubber filler strip needs shaving. Does anyone have any top tips? Is this normal?

Andrew, my screen was changed earlier this year and like you I had to fiddle with things until they lined up, I would say remember the masaic cast caps are very fragile and cant be stretched, shaving the rubber sounds a good idea. Good lick Alfi.

Thank you for your reply and tip. Yes the cappings are delicate, I wonder if the modern windscreen seals are slightly different to the originals. Looks like I will have a go at shaving the rubber.

Modern rubbers seem to seldom match the original. It doesn't seem to matter whether it's the screen, the boot or a door.
Time to get trimming
