#1 S2 Headlamp Flasher

Post by iani » Fri Apr 04, 2014 4:50 pm

Having got all my other electrics working I still can't figure out how I am supposed to flash my headlights. I believe it is by pulling on the indicator switch but this sounds the horn, as does pushing the switch towards the column. I have tried the main/dip switch but it does nothing unless the lights are on obviously. Do I have a fault or am I missing something here?

You have a fault. Pulling the indicator stalk towards you should flash the lights. Horn should work from the horn push. Check the wiring on the indicator switch.

My horn should work by pushing the indicator stalk towards the column, this is what the handbook says, this is an S2.

Not on an S2. The horn push is purely decorative...

Missed that bit! Still a problem with the switch wiring I reckon.

For S2:

Pushing the end of the indicator stalk towards the column activates the horn: Purple/Black wire is earthed completing the low current relay circuit & therefore activating the relay

Pulling the indicator stalk toward you flashes the main beam: connecting Blue/Yellow wire to Brown

Thanks, I'll take a look at the wiring.
