#1 Rear half shaft greasing

I can't get to the rear nearside grease nipple that's hidden inside the cover that surrounds the rear half shaft. I've prised off the small rubber cover, and I can see the grease nipple, but I can't get the grease gun on it. Comparing this side to the offside; the offside grease nipple has a 45 degree angle making this simple to grease. However, the nearside doesn't.

Is it possible to remove the half shaft cover, without having to take apart the whole rear axle, so that I can get to that darn grease nipple?!

There should be a jubilee clip that secures the cover to the drive shaft. Loosen it off and slide it down to expose the uj. Make sure you get it back in the same position otherwise it might rub.

The cover is split in two pieces held on by one hose clip. Just undo the hoseclip, slide the cover up the shaft and hey presto you have full access to said nipple. When you slide it back make sure the cover doesnt foul the inside of the casing and rotate the wheel/shaft just to make sure.
