bleed screw sealing
#1 bleed screw sealing
any tricks for sealing ...after changing resevoir tubes for the third time finally got the cloth outer braid type and is not weeping ....but am having trouble getting the bleed screws to seal tried the the ball type and the tapered ones even tried a 10 thou shim of copper still weeps up the thread not up the bleed hole ....any suggestions.... did it again yesterday with threadlocker on the screw so will check again tomorrow....WAZZA

what car you got...calipers cant be both taper and ball type so whichever one they arent you may have damaged the seating or nipple or both especially if you overtightened them a bit to try and make them seal...if I were you and didnt want to buy new calipers Id find out which type they actually are and maybe give it another go with the confirmed correct type of nipple...you can forget any kind of sealing to do with threads the fluid shouldnt get anywhere near them so your problem is at the seating and trying to mask it by sealing threads or using shim is dangerous...CRESPO

that was the period they used ball bleed valves so you may have damaged something damaged the very different type of but with replacement new bits you never know what youve been given... as it was a fairly narrow period it might even matter whether it was 67 titled or 67 built...CRESPO
