#1 wire wheel repair in Canada

Post by thexkeprocess » Wed May 21, 2014 3:40 am

Does anyone know of a repair shop that can handle spoke replacement, etc on wire wheels in Canada. Hate the cost of shipping to the US.
Regards,
Mark

#3 wire wheel repairs

You might try some of the motorcycle shops in Toronto. Either they can help or may know somebody who can. Fixing old wire wheels is difficult as the spoke is usually well rusted into the nipple making "tuning" touchy. If you have only one ot two broken spokes in a 72 spoke Jaguar wheel you can replace them yourself and tighten them to the same "clunk" as side by side spokes. You need to get spokes and probably some nipples. Access to a partially dismantled wheel is the best source. Hagartys posted a list of wheel repair shops in 2007 that you might get parts from if they are still operating:

I don't think that Daytons make chrome spokes anymore - all stainless. You might try:

for spokes as well.

What is it you need done to your wheels?
