Hi . I've been looking around but I can't find any companies supplying rear fhc door in aluminium or fibreglass ? Does anyone know of a supplier that can . Cheers for any ideas.

There aren't any. The weight saving of an alloy one anyway would be minimal as the steel one without glass weighs no more than perhaps 15 lbs ( it may even be less than that ) . If you want to save weight use perspex which looks hideous but is light

Hi I'm just starting a build of a S2 fhc , but I will be building it light weight ali bonnet , doors , stripped interior etc , and I was just serching for a lighter rear door , I will be sprinting / hill climbing it when finished

The weight saved by going to an alloy tailgate will be negligible. A stripped-out steel tailgate weighs very little. Christopher says, the glass is a major percentage of the weight so going with Perspex would probably make more sense--and save some money.

I had a local panel beater make up a shell for me for my race car, and put a 1/8 Lexan rear window in. You can see it at:

It required 4 duz fasteners (at each corner) as it was not stiff enough to use hinges. It was very light. My experience in race preparing a coupe was that they are tail heavy, will oversteer, and need substantial weight reduction in the rump particularly if you've taken weight off the front - like bumpers etc.

Or better still, Dzus, since that was the inventor's name, as in Newton, Watt, Pascal etc.

I kind of thought that wasn't spelled right.
