EDIS Ignition kit

Ray Livingstone, over on Jag-Lovers, is now ready to offer a kit to allow the installation of the EDIS ignition system on 3.8, 4.2 & V12 cars. This system replaces the distributor with a crankshaft mounted toothed wheel and sensor which feeds the EDIS controller which in turn operates a coil pack, one coil per cylinder. By adding the Megajolt Lite unit the ignition can be read and programmed from a PC. The system has become very popular on a variety of cars (it is based on Ford components) and seems to work incredibly well. Advantages are easier starting, smoother tick-over and better running through the rev range. Most of the required components are available here if you want to experiment or put together your own system: http://tinyurl.com/3mwrra You will need the Megajolt ECU (ready built or kit), EDIS, 6 cylinder coil pack and connectors. However Ray will be producing a complete DIY kit - trigger wheel mounted to the crankshaft pulley, sensor mounting bracket, EDIS mount, programmed Megajolt, harness, all new coil pack, connectors and other bits. Cost will be around $800, $1200 for the V12. If anyone is interested please register with Ray. Be aware there is a lot of development work to do to get it perfect (Ray only does perfect!) so delivery is likely to be in the Autumn, hopefully when the ? is stronger against the $.
