#1 Another boot seam question

Post by Arbington » Thu Aug 21, 2014 6:21 am

Hi All

Progressing with the shell. Could anyone advise me -

there's a seam at each side of the flat boot panel. We will be leaving this seam visible from below.
The original seam on the right has lead filling as it curves into view. We think this is original. It looks like you would see the seam from below the car but perhaps at the factory the seam was hidden so that from a standing position you would see a smooth panel below the bumper. We can't compare with the left side because it needs a repair there.

see pic with professional looking blue marking..

so area 2 shows the smooth section where it's been lead filled

The right side is correct, both seams should be lead loaded to hide the rearmost part of the seam.
