Hi. I have very recently had my 4.2 Series 1 E-Type cylinder head re-worked with new valve guides, valves, seats et al to allow me to run on unleaded fuel and when I got it back, I was given a new head gasket set (unbranded). I see the head gasket is metal - almost like aluminium but I'm sure it's not, but previously, any head gaskets I have used have been completely different - like a fibrous compound. What I am really asking, what is the best type of head gasket to use? My car will not be used for track days or any sort of competition - just regular Jaguar driving!
