#1 Dash wiring harness; which one?

Post by paulsco » Mon Oct 20, 2014 8:52 pm

Hi,

I have been looking at the SNG web site intending to buy a RHD dash harness for my 65, which was originally LHD.

JL107 states it is for a RHD car with the washer bottle on the right (in Stock) while JL106 states its for RHD car with the bottle on the left (special order).

I thought only LHD cars had the bottle on the right?

I have moved mine from the right to the left as part of the conversion to RHD; is this correct for a November 65 FHC?

If it is, it seems strange that the correct harness can only be obtained by special order?

Well, it is a bit strange since when I did mine some years ago there was no difference IIRC between the LHD and RHD dash looms : you merely turned the loom upside down to accommodate the handedness. Frankly, I think you are better off getting the looms from the specialists, and I now recommend only Autosparks ( who in any event make them for SNGB as far as I know ) . I would certainly recommend that you have a look at Autosparks ' website before you decide what to do

As Christopher says, call Autosparks and ask them; they make the looms SNGB sell anyway. Then once you have the required part numbers contact SNGB for price, they will discount where I have found Autosparks usually will not.

Thank you Christoper and Andrew for your comments.

I phoned SNG, who were not very helpful.

I have now ordered a harness from Autosparks as you advised.

Thanks again,

Paul
