Probably a stupid question, but I have just stripped out the car prior to fitting Koolmat, new interior etc but have not removed the door cappings yet.
1) I assume that they are held in place by the chrome strip at the bottom of the cappings/top of the door card
2) Should the chrome strips be attached with screws or rivets (they are riveted on my car). I seem to recall that they should be screwed
3) Does it matter?!!
Thanks

Malc, the door cappings are retained by the upper door chrome and sheet-metal screws; at least they were on both of my Series One coupes. Going on memory, I believe they are #6. It probably doesn't matter, but if the holes are stripped I would be inclined to install rivnut threaded inserts and retain everything with 6-32 or similarly sized machine screws.
