#1 Tightening Spinner?

I had to remove a wire wheel as the valve stuck when checking the tyre pressure. Removing the spinner (3 short eared version) took much bashing with the hammer - it rotated halfway round before it started to move easily.

The manual doesn't give much advice on how much to tighten the spinner by - I gave it 5 hard whacks with the hammer and stopped as it didn't seem to be tightening on the last blow.

Is that tight enough, or do I need to hit it some more? It does seem a brutal way to put a wheel on....

220lb/ft is the recommended figure. Three whacks with the hammer should do it. If you are using repro spinners all bets are off.

About right; maybe a little loose.
