Tex door mirrors -how to adjust

Hi Folks

I have a Tex door mirror on my car. When it’s in my preferred position for driving it flops back to near parallel with the door above 40mph. Anybody had the same problem and found a fix?

I’m guessing I have to take the glass out but can’t see an obvious way to do that either.

Any help much appreciated.

The glass is held in with rubber pads underneath it and the black plastic edging. To remove the glass press it in a little and lever out a long edge of the plastic edge with a wide flat implement like a paint scraper. Then remove the other edges of the plastic. Simples.
