#1 Handbrake dismantling

Post by jjorj » Sun Feb 01, 2015 3:13 pm

Hi, Need to get my handbrake rechromed and have tried taking it apart. The small access plate has been removed as well as the tiny pin in the button but try as I may I cannot get the clevis pin that holds the pawl to the operating rod to come to a position it can have the split pin removed and then come out. Am I missing something in the dismantling?

George - you need to remove the pawl pivot bolt first. Then the operating rod & pawl can be pushed so that the clevis pin is accessible from the access panel.
