#1 Difference on rear diff

Hi
I`m going to order parts for my rear diff on my series 2 fhc with manual transmission.
I see from the SNG barrat page that there is 3 different rear diffs.
How can I identify what kind of diff I have in my car?

Hi Frank....If u can get hold of a SC parts catalogue for the E type there is a detailed description of the 3 different types in the diff section....dont think its on tnere web site...if u cannot and u get no other answers here i can copy u the page....but not till monday....Steve.. PM me

So I'm curious, your other car is a Quattro? UR-version maybe?

Please note that u may not have the original diff in your car as it may have been changed in the past..... the 3 types are
3 types....1st and 2nd visually the same but 2nd has a suffix C in the serial No, 3rd type identified by drive shaft oil seal container bolted onto gear carrier and fitted to all series 2 cars from chassis No ots 1R1244 and 1R9930, fhc 1R20335 and 1R26756, and 2+2 1R35418 and 1R42445. . The 3 types are interchangable as complete units but individual parts may NOT be interchangable
This info is contained within the Jaguar spare parts catalogue u just have to search through it

Thanks for the info, I belive I have the type three then because of the bolted Caliper mountings/ oil seal ?
Based on serial # my car is ~100cars before they started fitting it, but as you said it coud be changed sometime the last 45 years
