#1 Front Side Frames

Post by Simon Bolton » Mon Aug 24, 2015 11:25 am

Hi All
I have discovered some small stress cracks at some joints on my offside Side Frame (1966 Series1) I know there are specific no-no's on this but can someone define the repair position on this one.
No welding I understand but why?
Is TIG allowed and if so what are the rules.
I did try the search but no specifics turned up.
Many thanks
Simon

If you're talking about cracks in the brazing then this is probably safe to fix.
If the cracks are in the tubes then you have to ask yourself why they are cracked and what the condition of the rest of the tubes are like inside.
