I'm also in the process fitting such a kit, but I've encountered a problem.
There is a vacuum pipe in the way. Have I got the proper E-type manifold?

I'm changing the American Str?mbergs for triple SUs in the same process you see.

Will I need to blank the vacuum ports?

Hi,

You have a 3.8 manifold but looks like a Mangoletsi kit for a 4.2.

Well, the car is a series 1.5 4.2. I guess I need a different inlet then.
Are these easy to come by?

Did the Mangoletsi kit come for 3.8s as well?

In that case, yes, you will need the 4.2 manifold. They do come up on ebay every now and then.

The inlet manifold you have is one of the very early 3.8 types which is more valuable than the later type. You might be able to sell the entire setup for the same price of a new Burlen kit.

On Finn (the Norwegian exchange & mart) there has been a few sellers of 4.2 engines the last months, one for sure is from an E-type (I bought his gearbox and flywheel). Maybe they could sell just the inlet, or worst case you buy the entire engine and sell off the other parts. Let me know if you can't find the adverts.

Then sell your valuable 3.8 manifold on eBay in UK. Nice exchange rate right now. And a keen buying market.

Maybe you'll make enough to pay for the throttle conversion kit too !

Isn't this the same as mine?

Looks very similar.
Thanks for the feed back guys!

No, yours has individually-clamped levers on the throttle spindle, which means the ?250,000 OBL/flat-floor/welded louvre builders/sellers will want your parts for more than the cost of a new Burlen setup. Nice to see someone accidentally making money with an E-type instead of working the usual investment schtick.

Yes, and for both LHD and RHD.

Well, I must admit, it would be tempting to "waste" the 3.8 inlet on the worthless S1.5 though, just to annoy the ?150.000 car guys 😂

Thanks guys for the feedback. I need to contact SNG B tomorrow.

More pedal travel, smoother operation, adjustable pedal position in all directions, better fuel economy: viewtopic.php?t=3512

A really worthwhile upgrade which makes the car even more of a pleasure to drive.

I've got that linkage kit too - beautifully made ;-)

Noticed that you have the vacuum take-off on the rearmost carb body. Not too critical, but you probably want it on the carb nearest the distributor, right at the front.

Cheers.
