#1 Broken choke lever

Post by Garrym » Thu Oct 08, 2015 7:15 am

Hello
My choke lever broke off as I tried to use it.
I'm unable to find a parts diagram that show the actual lever on the dash.
My car is a series 1 coupe RHD.
Can anyone point me to a parts diagram for this part of the dash?
Thanks.

Which bit broke? The plastic knob or the metal lever itself?
You can get access by taking off the dash top; 4 nuts.

See plate 52 in the 3.8 parts book.

The lever itself is just a bit of flat pressed metal; probably weldable depending on what's actually broken.

The metal lever broke about 1 inch from the knob. Do you mean take the dash pad off to get access from above?

Is that parts book online somewhere?

Thanks

Garry

You can purchase the parts book from Jaguar Heritage or Amazon and is more valuable than you can imagine, but in the mean time:

Yes. Irritating but once done you will be able to get at the mechanism.
