I am awaiting a set of Dayton 6" center laced wire wheels to arrive for my 1970 2+2 and wondering which 185 tires to put on. The SP Sports and Michelins are expensive in California so I'm considering Vredesteins but my mechanic recommended Coker Classic redlines 185R15 and I wondered if anyone out there has experience with them on an Etype?

I installed Coker redlines 185x15 five years ago and have had no issues, especially considering the Arizonan heat. You see tire remnants all over the scalding freeways out here. Redlines were a temporary fad back in the 70's and since my first E had them, I installed them again. and they look good against a BRG paint job. Also installed the tubes.

Thanks for the response.
Not so hot here in Santa Cruz but good to know!
I figured if the redline doesn't look so good against my silver paint job I can always turn them inside out.. :)

I'm also waiting on centerlaced Daytons...November, I'm told. Currently planning to try the new line of Sumitomo HR/VR all season tires (A/S PO2). Looks to be available in 205/65 and 215/65. Maybe 205 on the front and 215 on the rear. Depends on what fits and how it looks. Back up is Vreds. Attached a link to a good wheel/tire discussion...michael321 wrote:I am awaiting a set of Dayton 6" center laced wire wheels to arrive for my 1970 2+2 and wondering which 185 tires to put on.
