i need to skim off about 3 mm to get rid off grooves can i do this or will it cause a problem

3mm sounds a large amount to get rid of score marks from the clutch. I would be surprised if more than 1mm needed to be removed to achieve this, and I think that this would certainly be permissible on a 4.2 flywheel, and probably just about permissible on a 3.8 which is considerably lighter , but i would be unhappy about going much deeper than 1mm
