Filter King leaking

I installed a new Filter King last week and was rather unpleasantly surprised that it leaked fuel from the "tap" in the outflow side of the filter.



To my great joy, the supplier of the filter (received mid March) does not give warranty (not kidding) so I want to see if I can repair this leak before I fork out 75£ again for another one.

So, before I try to drill out this "tap", can it be removed in another way (aka not destroying it with a drill) so I can thread the hole and fill it with a bolt?
Or is this a silly idea anyway.

Is it a glass or plastic bowl. I had a leak from the plastic version so bought a falls bowl. No problems since.

A glass bowl. Unfortunately the bowl is not to blame.
The circled "tap" in the picture was not properly fitted (welded?) into its housing so fuel comes through.
Looking for a way to replace this tap, since there is quite a lot of fuel dripping with the ignition on.

What is it? Looks like a core plug? Whatever it is, if it were mine I think I'd drag it out of there somehow, tap a thread & fit a tapered plug instead. While I was at it I'd fit correct-sized hose clamps too ;)

If the thing is that badly made it leaks do you really want it on your prized car at all?

Only a thought, but when you fitted the guage has it gone too far into the casting and distorted the plug?
I intend to fit the same filter so would be interested to know.

Thanks for the feedback.
I contacted "Officine Malpassi" who are located "nearby" and they claim that indeed the gauge was screwed in to deeply.
Since it is a conical fit, the gauge should be (according to them) loctited into place.
I have just asked them again to provide a repair method since I do not fancy throwing this thing away, but it looks like I will have to.
I hope they will not be offended regarding my comment based on working for 20 years in the quality department of 2 Japanese motorcycle constructors, that they should review the design of this filter king.
After all, the customer is king, not the filter. Sorry, couldn't help myself

And yes Hugo, I will install some correct size clamps once I solved this problem, but unfortunately i messed up the ones I had, trying to fix the potential leaking points.

A quick update.
I managed to reduce the leaking to a "moist" feeling at the core plug, by using loctite when screwing in the gauge.
Since I was not happy with this result I undid the gauge and used loctite again but tightened it more.
I will not be able to test the result until I have
1. received new throttle cables from Mangoletsi, since, due to a lack of proper fitting instructions, I cause a "bend" in both cables (fitted june 2016) which will require replacement of both.
Correct cable fitting instructions were provided just last week so am hoping that I will get new cables within a couple of weeks. First one requested around July last year because I could see a bend in the cable housing when installing them, never received it due to non availability of Mr. Mangoletsi.
2. replaced the timing cover oil seal...joy
3. installed the exhaust manifolds again after repainting them in "barbecue - heat paint"
