I've bought a few bits including an XJ bell housing usable with a getrag 265 gearbox.
I don't know if it can be used on the XK 3.8 or 4.2l .
In other words, the xj engine is an XK base one or not ?
Does some on known ?

A standard Getrag bell will not fit an XK engine. Assuming it is a Jaguar Getrag bell it will fit alloy AJ6 or AJ16 engines only. You could but an adapter, but ...
