#1 series 2 fan heater switch

Hi,
My heater fan switch was stuck when I purchased the car. I have from SNG BARRATT a new switch, however there's no wiring diagram for assistance. I'm aware of the 3 colour wires available to connect to the switch,can anyone help . I maybe have to send picture of the contacts on rear of new switch ? I spent 3 yesterday getting the dash board apart and fitting the switch, I tried connecting but the wires to the fan switch started getting hot so I removed double quick and re fitted dashboard so getting a bit frustrated.
