Series 2 Heater and switch

Unable to wire correctly my new heater switch. Ive identified green is live.
I have looked at the wiring diagram on this forum.

The green/blue and green yellow go to the heater fan. I tested with a meter but cannot get it right. Unfortunately had hot wires and heater fan and one stage so may have damaged the fan or maybe It was broken before i started. I have picture of switch but cannot see how to post on this forum ?

The heater motor should have two wires - green and black or sometimes black and black. Connect these directly to a 12v source (battery or charger). Motor should spin freely when connected and not get hot. If it is slow you need to dismantle it and clean the commutator and lube the bearings.

The two speeds are available by using a resistor which is attached to the motor mounting plate. You should have three wires in the loom - black (earth), green/yellow and green/blue (both 12v live). The green/blue goes to the resistor to provide the low speed, the green/yellow by-passes the resistor and connects to the green motor wire.

Thank you David for reply. I connected heater motor direct with battery charger and didn't run ,so I guess requires replacement.

Worth dismantling the motor and see if it can be repaired. It is very simple and you will probably find the bearings have seized. There is a description on here somewhere of how someone did it. Here you go: viewtopic.php?t=4143

Or if it is beyond repair Kevin and you are really stuck, I have a good working one from a series 2 as I'm upgrading the heater and matrix.

Test with a ohmmeter the switch contacts are connecting as you would expect.

I've had 2 switches from a well known supplier that only connected the 12v feed on the low position and not the high position.
