Dear all
I’m a regular checker of the forum and find it invaluable ..thank you all
I’m currently reconditioning the component parts of my UK March ‘62 RHD OTS garage find. I’m trying to use as many original parts as possible, even the patinated bits with scratches...it just feels like the correct thing to do!
With respect to the Trico vacuum valve...is there a way of bench testing it for correct function? (Short of blowing into it/sucking on the pipe)
I presume there is some sort of diaphragm inside which, I assume may perish.
OR ...should I just buy a new one!!?....these are brakes we’re talking about and “failure is not an option”
Can anyone advise?
Many thanks and regards
Robbie

Yes.
If you look at the diagram of the vacuum system in the Service manual you'll be able to work out how the valve works and therefore how to test it. But as you say; it's the brakes... why risk it?
