Cheating heater demister hoses ?

Mine are all loose (5 small pieces), to short, hardened and do slide out of the dash top vents.

Any cheap way to cheat here ? 1.5 mtrs is 20 Euros- must I really buy this new ? Thought about using short parts of a bike tyre tube, but maybe someone has a better idea ?

It's invisible and a not-really-necessary part in the end...

Methought about toilet paper rolls (the innards), but they're too weak. (Just jokin' a bit here...).

Seems I bite the bullet and buy the real thing from SNG.

Problem is just I am again, after the long african holiday trip, a bit broke, so progress on the car stops a bit due to missing items- you all know that.

And I am sooo close to close the dashboard.... Paper tubes on top, and harduras below, thats all.

Then seats, final carpets, interior: job done.

Similar in the engine bay - fit exhaust, fit starter motor cable, fit carbs, fill up, trial run time...

Hi Carsten.....my thoughts were for you to use some tape on the small tubes that you have that are loose.......use it on each end around the tubes to slightly reduce the diameter......anyway good news on tne car not long to go

I used CAT ducting, available through aviation suppliers. It's not expensive and far more durable than the paper stuff.

I found some vacuum cleaner /Hoover hoses in the correct diameter at a repair shop.

I used some black pvc ribbed tubing intended for use in garden water features and aquariums.

Hi Carsten,

I've just bought a 2m length of hose on ebay. It is advertisied as fish tank hose and is really cheap. This is the item number 370770201732. The size you need is 32mm and it was £6.75 with free postage. It's corrugated like the original, but made of plastic so won't fall apart like the original! It is nice and pliable and fits perfectly ;-)

I've had pretty good luck with a local place which sells and maintains campers and all of the various bits associated with them. The place here in Zurich has a selection of sizes in paper, stainless, plastic, Aluminum and other materials.
